Flying Dolphin
The composition of this artwork is a dolphin jumping out of the water in front of a sunset. To add texture to the print, i added wavy lines for the waves in the water. I also added lines coming off of the sun for the rays of the sun. To add contrast I cut out the belly of the dolphin so it would be more noticable. Both texture and contrast are important for a print because it helps the picture come to life and make it look more realistic. I used positive and negative space to show the outline and the shapes of the dolphin to make it stand out more. The project is decently technically crafted. I could have added more detail to the dolphin or to the ocean. I was able to show depth to the print making the dolphin bigger showing that it was closer and that it was jumping out of the water. I really liked doing this project. it was one of my favorite projects so far. Getting to cut out the print was the best part.

Print sketches
This is the original idea for my print sketch. It is a dolphin coming out of the water in front of a sun set. Texture is important in our sketches so that we can translate them into the final project we have to do. If we do not add texture at the beginning, we might forget what the texture is suppose to look like exactly. It is important to have several references of our animals and backgrounds so we can have different angles of our animals and the backgrounds. If we just have one angle of our animal, we might forget to add something to the picture so it is important to have multiple references to look back at. It is neccessary to have multiple backgrounds so we can decide which one we want to incorporate in our projects. When looking at my sketches I could tell which one would make the strongest print. Some of my other ideas would not work because of the patterns on the animal or other aspects that would be needed to make the print of a different animal.
For our chalk mural, we decided to do a person taking notes in math class and doodling on the paper because they got bored. During this expierence, our team worked really well together. It was fun to get to work with others so we could hear their ideas and use their input on the chalk mural. Having more than one opionon helps the project as a whole because we can colaborate and make it the best we possibly can. Collaboration is very important when working on a team to make sure that everybody has a part of the project and to make sure that everybody is ok with the project. Having multiple poeple working on the project also helps because it adds more ideas to the project and more diversity because it is not just one persons ideas in the project. I think the project was pretty succesful. The project as a whole came out just like we had it on paper and followed the original plan. Creating artwork that other people can interact with is really fun. Seeing somebody that likes your artwork and interacting is really inspiring to help keep you going and making artwork.
